It is not uncommon for couples to experience increased stress, communication problems, or other significant issues in their relationship. While some conflicts may be temporary and pass, there are some situations that may seem to take on a different level of impact and importance.
In some cases, it might feel like you are having the same recurring fights and it might feel more frequent.
Recurring Issues Can Lead To:
• Increased defensiveness
• Antagonism
• Verbal arguments
• Breakdowns in communication
• Intimacy issues
• Different types and levels of withdrawal
• Help couples identify and correct negative communication patterns
• Re-establish a positive and supportive climate
• Reawaken feelings of affection and caring towards one’s partner
• Overcome problems related to sex and intimacy
• Learn how to avoid triggering one another and strategies to avoid criticism, name-calling, shutting down, and disrespect
• Create greater understanding for one another and develop the ability to effectively discuss different perspectives
• Work through infidelity and other threats to the relationship
• Understand how to rebuild trust
It is easy for relationships to fall victim to unhealthy patterns of communication. Unmet, unrealistic, and unspoken expectations within the relationship can further complicate the difficulties that occur. Our goal at Bella Living is to create a comfortable environment for both partners to take the steps to learn the strategies so that couples can improve relationships, reduce conflict, and renew the loving support that once existed in their relationship. Bella Living works to align the goals of both individuals while maintaining the relationship as the client to enhance the feeling that both are equal in the therapeutic space.
